Christmas Special 2026 - SEND Sessions
Audley End Enchanted Railway invites families to step into our enchanted woodland in North Essex this Christmas. As we prepare for this year’s magical journey in the heart of the forest. We can’t wait to share our unforgettable Christmas Special SEND sessions this year, running on selected days from the 21st November to 24th December.
After talking to many parents of children with special educational needs or disabilities we have made the following adjustments to our Christmas Special event!
- The session will be at the beginning of the day so visitors will be the first customers on site and the site will therefore be quieter
- Reduced or eliminated queuing time
- Reduced volume of sound/music during Christmas show
- No flashing lights, UV lights or unexpected events/sounds during the Christmas show
- All staff will be trained to reflect the advice the specialists and parents have given us
We want to offer families an exceptional day out in the great outdoors, that brings a sprinkle of magic to get you into the spirit of Christmas.
Your Christmas Adventure Awaits
Hop on board our train and ride into the enchanted forest, the air fills with the glow of festive lights and the promise of Christmas wonder. You will spot Christmas scenes along the way before you arrive…
At Father Christmas’ workshop, friendly elves await! The highlight, of course, is meeting Father Christmas and Mother Christmas, who will greet each child personally from the comfort of your train carriage and present each little one with a small gift.
Once you’re back at our woodland you can take a stroll through the Fulfen Forest, to see all of the twinkly lights with plenty of places to take photos. Meet our reindeer keepers who will help you to make reindeer food to leave out on Christmas Eve. You can write your very own letter to Father Christmas, make a wish and post it at our post box that goes straight to the North Pole. Find a selection of merry Fairies and Elves in their festive homes. Pop along to the stage show to enjoy a relaxed and jolly performance. Don’t forget to let off steam at the adventure playground, and explore the Little Acorn Village. Enjoy refreshments at our Woodland Cafes and why not toast marshmallows (small extra cost) and enjoy a hot chocolate for an extra cosy feel.
Before you go, to take a spin around the classic fairground carousel, for a small extra cost.
Every step of the experience has been designed to immerse you in the magic of Christmas. We hope you love it!
