Halloween Autism & SEN Friendly Sessions 2024
After talking to many parents of children with special educational needs or disabilities we have made the following adjustments to our Halloween Special:
- The session will be at the beginning of the day so visitors will be the first customers on site and the site will therefore be quieter
- Parking will be in our disabled car park for close access to the site
- Reduced or eliminated queuing time
- Reduced volume of sound/music & no microphones
- No flashing lights or unexpected events/sounds
- All staff will be trained to reflect the advice the specialists and parents have given us
Please read below for further information regarding your day:
The 9.40am time slot is for your train ride where our station masters will board you upon our Halloween Express. Chugging deep into the Estate Woodland you will arrive at the witches’ house and be greeted by the coven of witches together with some family favourite Halloween characters that you all know and love!
The wicked witches and their playful friends will entertain you as you arrive at their scare school, cackling and chanting spells around their cauldrons, teaching you all how to trick and treat, before giving everyone a special gift.
Once you return from your train journey the entertainment continues as you venture back into the woods to our Craft Cabin, where you will create your very own potion pouch to use at home!
Potion pouch complete you will then venture into our Fairy and Elf Walk where some of our resident Fairies and Elves have decorated their houses with intricate Halloween decorations, use your best spotting skills to find them all!
You will then have the opportunity to explore our adventure play area while also enjoying the delights of our café and seating area, in our witches' hat Tipi Tents!
Finally, you will visit the Magicians dwelling. Here you will meet our Magician, William, the king of the woods
The Audley End witches do love seeing you kitted out in your spooky finery – so make sure you dress to scare!
The Halloween spook-tacular is spooky fun and never scary and is therefore suitable for even the smallest of monsters.
Included in your ticket price:
Train Ride through the woods to visit the witches and their monster friends, Gift for every child, Craft Making, Magician Show, Fairy & Elf Walk, Adventure Play Area
Booking is required. Tickets will not be available to purchase on the day.
Please note only part of the Fairy and Elf Walk is included in this event. You will not have access to the whole walk.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your train ride to ensure you are ready to board at the time you have selected. If you require the wheelchair carriage please let us know in advance by emailing enquiries@aemr.co.uk.
